Decorations by Jelena is a family of event stylists and designers with an unmatched flair for creating stylish, fun and creative celebrations. Jelena and her five daughters adore designing personalised weddings and events for every single one of their clients.
Their expert vision and exquisite customer service has garnered them a reputation for quality, creativity and originality. From their cozy showroom on the outskirts of Sydney they have nurtured a passion for events since 2008.
Jelena Matekalo started sewing to fill her free time, after her five daughters grew up and left home.
Making chair covers, sashes and table cloths to help her friends create beautiful parties and events. Decorations by Jelena has grown from a hobby into a business. People appreciated her sewing skill, her creativity and also her ability to take the stress out of their events.
Over the years Jelena’s daughters have jumped on board and helped her create one of the most trusted, truly family owned and operated, event decorating businesses in Sydney.

Our clients are provided different options to make creating a beautiful setting for their event as easy as possible. We also keep in contact with them every step of the way. Clients and customers feel reassured knowing they’re in good hands and can relax and leave the how-to to us.
Here are the options we offer:
Full Service Styling, Decorations & Florals
This option is for the hands-off souls. It allows you time to tend to other aspects of the event and fully enjoy it without worrying about the details.
Once we have worked with you to map out your vision, we get to work creating the elements for your event. We consult with you as needed for approvals along the way, but leave you free from managing the details and logistics.
The team will source, create and style everything from florals, ceiling draping, fairy lights, chandeliers, room lighting, backdrops and backgrounds, table settings, linens, to flowers and centrepieces.
If it’s weddings you’re planning, we also take care of the bridal flowers and ceremony styling for you.
On the day of the event, our professional team will work with your venue and other vendors, we set up and take down giving you the opportunity to focus your energy on your guests and making memories.
Details Styling & Decorations
This option best suits a client who wants to make a statement through subtle elements.
We style your event from our extensive existing collection of materials, decorations and accessories, combined with floral and all the amenities that your venue has to offer. The result is a reflection of your style and vision that creates the atmosphere for a fabulous event.
As part of the process we will also advise you on colours and styling as well as other options that you may not have considered.
On the day of the event, our team of stylists will set up and take down all the elements, giving you the opportunity to focus your energy on the event and your guests.
Self Styling Hire
We now offer a limited selection of our range for Hire. Over the years we have collected and amassed an assortment of linens, vases, mirrors, candle holders, votives and more. These are now available for DIY hire. This option is best for the creative clients who want to give styling and decorating a go.

Getting things started
